Narrowcast Server is the natural way to implement Enterprise Reporting with the MicroStrategy platform. The platform's seamless integration means that Narrowcast Server can batch process and deliver any pixel-perfect quality documents created through MicroStrategy Report Services, as well as automate delivery over the Web using MicroStrategy Web.

Secure Information Delivery

MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server inherits all of the security features of the MicroStrategy BI platform. User identity is confirmed at the time of subscription, and platform security mechanisms such as security filters, privileges and Access Control Lists are enforced during content generation and delivery.

Efficient Workload Balancing

Narrowcast Server employs powerful algorithms to efficiently break down workload across clustered hardware. This allows for a variety of hardware configurations that best support your security, performance and reliability requirements. While even the Standard Edition supports firewalls to separate web, application and database layers, the Enterprise Edition provides hot fail over support and workload distribution over multiple systems.

Subscription Through Portal or MicroStrategy Web

Using an intuitive web-based interface, your users can easily define the personalization, frequency and delivery mechanism for their own information. Email subscription is also available to MicroStrategy Web users. Web-based self-subscription enables deployment to large global communities with minimal IT administration.

Profile-based Personalization

MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server provides deep, data-driven personalization that is determined by user preferences, security profiles and advanced analytics. This user-level personalization determines the content and exception conditions, controls access to information sources and incorporates the appropriate analysis from terabytes of data. Personalized data is delivered in the format requested (HTML, XLS, PDF, CSV, XML, etc.) and includes support for dynamic functionality in output formats like DTHML and Excel spreadsheets with macros.

Scalable Delivery and Alerting

MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server administrators can create content once and then distribute this content to the broadest range of user devices - including printers, faxes, emails, file servers, portals and mobile devices. The MicroStrategy platform can easily generate 100,000 personalized reports per hour from a single server. The sophisticated message management and XML-based architecture ensure that the information will be formatted appropriately for any selected device.
